ACEO Limited Edition Prints

ACEO Limited Edition Prints

ACEOs, Art Card Edition and Originals, are small works measuring 2-1/2" x 3-1/2." This collection includes limited edition prints that have been professionally produced from many of Jean's more popular ACEO originals.

Wildlife

Wildlife

Jean never tires of developing paintings that feauture the beauty of wildlife and nature. Many of her inspirations for these watercolors come from her own backyard and neighborhood.

Portraits

Portraits

Although Jean does not consider herself a portrait artist, the challenges provided by these subjects help her grow in this medium. When accepting a portrait challenge, she looks for references with dramatic lighting and spends a great deal of time layering color.

Domestic Animals

Domestic Animals

Jean's love of animals often inspires these works. Her photo references for these pieces are gathered from travels to places like family farms and local and state fairs.

Landscapes

Landscapes

Jean enjoys painting an occasional landscape as a reprieve after completing a highly detailed, realistic or demanding piece. Landscapes provide a greater degree of freedom yet still achieve depth when values are correct.

Still Life

Still Life

This category comprises one of the smallest bodies of Jean's work, perhaps because her paintings seem void to her unless they include a living, breathing, creature. Yet, traditional still life subjects are another tool helping Jean grow as an artist in this medium.

Le Mars, Iowa

Le Mars, Iowa

Le Mars, IA, home to Wells - Blue Bunny, was officially named the Ice Cream Capital of the World by the Iowa legislature! Since relocating to Le Mars in 2009, Jean has painted a few familiar town subjects!

Albany, Georgia

Albany, Georgia

These paintings feature places of interest in Albany, GA, where Jean resided for 12 years. Although these places no longer exist, the works bring back a flood of nostalgic memories to their patrons.

Commissions

Commissions

Here is a sample of some of the commissioned works Jean has painted. When the subject of her commission is a beloved family pet she strives to capture the animal's very personality and spirit.

Books

Books

Jean's watercolor artist friend and mentor, Susan Bourdet, saw a painting Jean had done featuring whimsical frogs and encouraged her to develop a children's book. Jean has now illustrated three children's books since that first bit of encouragement!
